Bravo, BCCI. Bravo, GOI.

This article is with respect to the distribution of money done by the BCCI and state governments, to our CHAMPIONS!

After India won the T20 WC, I was elated. Everyone was! Before the match, one of the commentators on ESPN/STAR said that the BCCI had announced an amount of $ 1 million for the Indian team. Fair enough, they're trying to convey to the team that whatever happens in the final, we're backing you.

Then after the match was won, one of the presenters said the amount was hiked to $ 2 million. After reaching India, it was told that they were given a total of $ 3 million....ees good. 3 million, they deserved...a l'il more. maybe.

Now after all this happened, there was the stupid felicitation (God save us from these govt. ppl), where the players were given NO respect at all, and the political leaders came to the party, as if they had won India the T20 cup.

The saddest part, was when the State Governments started declaring prize money for the "Individual" players, who belong to the respective state. All the time, during the T20 cup, one song was synonymous - Chak De India. The movie tells us that no one should mention their States, Only India. Then WHY do the state governments want to waste all the taxpayers' money AS WELL AS the loaned money from World Bank, to give to the Indian players?

Heres the list:

- Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh has announced a cash incentive of Rs 10 lakh each for Ajit Agarkar and Rohit Sharma.

- Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has announced that her Government would give cash award of Rs 5 lakh each to Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag.

- R. P. Singh will receive Rs 10 lakh in cash and a citation from the UP government as mark of recognition for his brilliant performance.

- Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has announced an award of Rs 5 lakh each for Venkatesh Prasad, the bowling coach of the team, and Robin Uthappa.

- The President of Andhra Pradesh’s Telangana Rashtriya Samiti has announced a rewards of Rs 1,16,000 each to Dhoni, Irfan Pathan and Gautam Gambhir.

- Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has announced a cash reward of Rs 21 lakh for Joginder Sharma.

- Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh offered a week’s free stay to all the members of the team in any of the HP Tourism Development Corporation hotels in the state.

- Tamil Nadu Government announced Rs 5 lakh cash reward for Dinesh Karthik.

- Team India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni will receive the first ever ‘Jharkhand Ratna’ Award which carries a cash award of Rs 5 lakh and a memento.

- Tax exemption for all players.

-------------------------------------------------------

I think the most intelligent person in all this is Narendra Modi.
The news channels going on BLABBERING: "Modi IGNORES the Pathan brothers". They just need fresh shit to eat upon.

BTW, this list doesn't include the "Gifts" given to certain players...You know...Cars and stuff :|

--------------------------------------------------------

Bottomline: Nobody cares how much money the players got, but the problem is with the governance of this country. States just throwing away money, which can be used for many other things.

BCCI could have used the money to bring the Women Cricket Team of India to a better standard. Increase viewership, etc.

---------------------------------------------------------

This is all I've got to say now!

Regards,

Adijo
